Rutherford County is on the rise in Economic Impact
The original goal of Destination Rutherford was to add 1,800 new primary jobs in the three-year period of 2003-2005. Instead, the economic development initiative netted 9,279 primary jobs with direct earnings of $455 million.
Through Destination Rutherford II, a projected 4,000 new jobs will be added to the local economy during the next four years.
The creation of 4,000 new direct jobs in the county is estimated to generate:
* $178.3 million in direct payroll
* $241.6 million in personal consumption expenditures
* 3,945 indirect and induced jobs
* $121.7 million in indirect and induced payroll
* $46.9 million in deposit potential for the area financial institutions
